This report serves as an important tool for assessing the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework. In 2026, this report will be presented at the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, where the republic intends to demonstrate its achievements in the field of ecology. The work on this document was carried out within the framework of the National Development Program - 2030, where natural resource management is highlighted as one of the key areas of state policy.
During the discussion of the report, participants, including representatives of government agencies, scientists, and international experts, addressed issues related to expanding the network of protected natural areas, forest restoration, and the conservation of rare species such as the snow leopard. Significant attention was given to the risks associated with climate change, as well as the need to integrate environmental aspects into educational programs and public administration.
The creation of the Seventh National Report has become a significant platform for uniting the efforts of the state and civil society. This process is supported by the global initiative of UNDP-GEF, which aims to assist countries in updating biodiversity conservation strategies. Experts note that the validation of the report not only summarizes the results but also lays the foundation for long-term financial and institutional solutions aimed at protecting the unique nature of Kyrgyzstan.
