This ban, which will last for another six months, covers cattle, sheep, goats, and horses.
The decision to impose restrictions is due to the necessity of ensuring food security and controlling prices in the food market.
It should be noted that the ban will not apply to:
- transit shipments through Kyrgyzstan;
- the export of sport horses for participation in competitions;
- the donation of horses to foreign states and international organizations;
- the export of live cattle through the state operator "Kyrgyz Agrokholding," except for livestock produced in Kyrgyzstan;
- the transportation of horses by air.
The relevant state authorities have already received instructions to implement this ban.
The first restrictions on the export of agricultural animals were introduced in Kyrgyzstan on August 21, 2025, when there was a sharp increase in meat prices. This decision was made to stabilize the food market.
