
A plant is planned to be built in the Kyrgyz Republic that will process solid household waste using technologies from Italy. This project was discussed at a meeting, resulting in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Investment Agency and the Italian company TRITOR. The expected investment in the project will amount to between 10 and 12 million euros.
Representatives from various government structures and local self-government from the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Karakol, Tokmok, and Kara-Balta attended the extended meeting.
During the visit of the Italian delegation, sites for the plant were proposed in Tokmok and Kara-Balta. The Italian side expressed interest in a long-term lease of land for up to 30 years on mutually beneficial terms.
The parties also discussed the possibility of supplying equipment for the processing of medical waste to one of the medical institutions in the Chui region. The estimated cost of this equipment is approximately 700 thousand dollars. The Italian company is ready to consider special supply conditions, taking into account the social significance of the project.
Consultations on preparing the investment agreement are currently ongoing.
The National Agency also held a series of meetings with representatives of Italian businesses. In particular, issues were discussed with the company Valli Estensi, which specializes in tomato production. The Italian partners were provided with information about investment opportunities in Kyrgyzstan, including the agro-industrial sector.
In a separate working meeting, representatives of the company Unimpresa participated, where possible areas of cooperation and formats for business partnerships were discussed.
Additionally, negotiations took place with the participation of the Deputy Ambassador of Italy to Kazakhstan, the director of the office of the Agency for the Promotion and Internationalization of Italian Companies, and representatives of the consular department of the Italian Embassy. The Italian side confirmed that Kyrgyzstan is one of the 15 priority countries for Italy and expressed a desire to deepen economic cooperation.
The initiative to hold a business forum in the format of Central Asia - Italy was also discussed. The Kyrgyz side confirmed its readiness to assist in the preparation and organization of this event.
To expand interaction, the National Agency initiated appeals to relevant development institutions in Italy, such as the Italian Trade and Investment Agency and the FederUnacoma association, and also proposed to hold thematic online negotiations with interested companies.
