As of today, the oil refinery "Junda" in Kara-Balta is undergoing modernization. Investments in the project have reached 193.75 million US dollars, and the completion of the work is scheduled for July 31, 2026.
Recently, employees of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, along with representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Kara-Balta City Hall, and the Akbashat District Administration, conducted an on-site inspection of the enterprise. The purpose of the visit was to assess the current progress of the capital repairs and modernization of the plant.
This visit was made possible thanks to an invitation from LLC "China Petrol Company 'Junda'" and their investor — the Chinese Shanxi Coal Chemical Corporation. The delegation familiarized themselves with the stages of construction and installation work and the current readiness of production capacities.
This project is being implemented in accordance with the Investment Agreement concluded between the National Investment Agency and LLC "Central Asian Energy Company," as well as an additional agreement that anticipates an increase in the volume of investments.
The capacity of the plant is 800,000 tons of oil per year. The main goal of the modernization is to deepen oil processing, create new jobs, and enhance the energy security of the country.
