Within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), changes have occurred regarding the transportation of hazardous goods. The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to implement common principles to simplify the processing and obtaining of special permits for the transportation of hazardous materials during international road transport along the roads included in the list of Eurasian transport corridors.

In the new document, recommendations for member states are provided regarding the timelines for issuing and the validity of special permits, as well as the forms of applications and necessary data. In particular, EAEU countries are suggested to establish the following timeframes:

The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC, Arzybek Kozhoshev, noted that the implementation of these recommendations will facilitate the process of obtaining special permits for carriers and reduce their costs in the field of logistics and control.

It should be noted that until March 10, 2026, the rules for obtaining special permits for the transit or transportation of hazardous goods were determined by national legislations, which created additional complexities in logistics processes, increased administrative costs, and often caused delays at borders.
