EEC supported KR initiatives on customs benefits and equipment certification

On March 13, a meeting of the Council took place in Moscow, during which issues related to expanding the list of goods subject to permanent traceability within the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed. This was reported by Elimbek Kanybek uulu, head of the EAEU coordination department, at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency.

He noted that the previously compiled list of goods for traceability was created as a result of a series of expert and high-level meetings held from March to September 2025. This list was approved by the decision of the EEC Council on January 26, 2026, under number 5. It includes items such as household refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, and television communication equipment.

Additionally, Kanybek uulu reported on the consideration of changes to the technical regulations of the Customs Union concerning the conformity assessment of self-propelled machines and their trailers. Council members expressed support for the proposal to maintain the existing form of conformity assessment in the form of declaration for products intended solely for the domestic market until 2040.

“Council members supported Kyrgyzstan's initiative regarding amendments to certain decisions of the Customs Union Commission, which propose the establishment of temporary tariff benefits for specific goods. These measures may concern certain types of fruits, citrus fruits, as well as cocoa powder and products based on it intended for industrial processing, considering the dependence on imports,” he noted.
The implementation of these initiatives is aimed at stabilizing the domestic market and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of food industry enterprises. The updated list of goods will be published at the end of the current month.
