As reported by Deputy Tabyldy Muratbekov, it is planned to set electricity tariffs for mosques at a level similar to that of commercial premises. At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, he strongly urged against making such changes.

According to him, this notification was sent to the mosques of the Tyup district by the ministry.

The deputy noted that mosques cannot be considered as commercial or office buildings, and that it would be difficult for them to cope with increased expenses. In Bishkek, the situation might be slightly better due to a larger number of congregants and donations; however, in rural areas, mosques will face serious financial difficulties. Therefore, he requested to keep the existing tariffs unchanged.
