The Chairman of the State Tax Service, Alambet Shykmamatov, held a meeting with representatives of the Swiss company SICPA SA, known for its security technologies and tracking systems. This was reported by the press service of the STS.
Participating in the meeting were Philippe Amon, the CEO and Chairman of the Board of SICPA SA, Strategic Development Director Jean-Philippe Godin, as well as other key company staff and representatives of the relevant structural divisions of the STS.
The main topic of discussion was cooperation in implementing a tracking system for gold and other mineral extraction, adapted to Kyrgyz conditions. The implementation of this project will help streamline the operations of artisanal mines, improve sampling methods, organize control over supply chains, and prevent illegal operations with gold and gold waste.
Alambet Shykmamatov emphasized that the implementation of a gold tracking system is a strategically important task for the country.
"Kyrgyzstan has many deposits and companies engaged in gold mining. However, the lack of reliable tracking mechanisms can lead to data distortion, such as concealing extraction volumes by unscrupulous participants," he noted.
The head of the STS also reported that significant preparatory work has already been carried out with SICPA SA. A working group has been created, a roadmap project has been developed, and the necessary foundation for practical implementation has been formed. The parties are ready to proceed to the signing of the relevant agreements.
Philippe Amon, CEO of SICPA SA, expressed a positive opinion about the meeting and supported the STS's decision to implement a monitoring system in the gold mining industry.
He added that the successful implementation of the project will create a basis for future joint initiatives and allow for the expansion of cooperation, including the introduction of similar solutions for other minerals.
