In Batken, phased work has begun on the modernization of electrical networks, with the goal of preparing for the autumn-winter season of 2026–2027.

As reported by the Batken Electric Networks Enterprise, the reforms being implemented by the Ministry of Energy are aimed at improving the tariff policy in the electricity sector. This is expected to enhance the sector's resilience and update the infrastructure, which in turn will help reduce electricity losses and replace outdated equipment.

As a result of the tariff policy of the branch of OJSC "NES Kyrgyzstan" — Batken Electric Networks Enterprise — the replacement of power lines with self-supporting insulated wires (SIP) is being carried out.

In 2026, it is planned to replace 60 km of aluminum wires of power lines with a voltage of 0.4–6/10 kV with SIP-2 and SIP-3 cables in the region.

In particular, the following projects will be implemented for overhead lines of 0.4–6/10 kV:

- 16.25 km of SIP will be constructed as part of new capital construction;

- 43.75 km of aluminum wires will be replaced with SIP-2 and SIP-3 cables.

Including by RES:

- 15.5 km — Sulyukta RES;

- 6.82 km — Leilek RES;

- 12.38 km — Batken RES;

- 8.3 km — Kadamjai RES;

- 17 km — Kyzyl-Kiya RES.

The work on laying SIP cables will be carried out from March to November in the Batken region.

As explained by the representatives of the enterprise, these activities are part of a large program for modernizing the energy infrastructure aimed at providing the population with quality and stable electricity. The implementation of these works will increase the reliability of electrical networks, reduce the number of emergency situations, decrease electricity losses, and ensure uninterrupted power supply to the residents of the region.
