Import of Technical Goods in Kyrgyzstan
In particular, the volume of imports of ferrous metals increased by 2.3 times, amounting to $79.7 million. Supplies of electrical machines and equipment rose by 45.8 percent. The main suppliers contributing to this growth are enterprises from China and Russia.
As for the market of non-food goods, there is a mixed dynamic. On one hand, imports of equipment and mechanical devices increased by 54.3 percent, reaching $9.8 million. On the other hand, supplies of measuring and control instruments fell by 4.5 times, and leather products decreased by 2.7 times.
Furthermore, the volume of pharmaceutical products in the import structure noticeably increased, amounting to $20.9 million, which is 18.1 percent higher than last year.

Exports of ferrous metals from Kyrgyzstan at the beginning of 2026 increased by 2.5 times, while imports rose by 2.3 times. This may indicate a redistribution of raw material resources or re-export operations within the EAEU.
However, the decrease in clothing exports by 21.2 percent points to problems in the garment industry, which has traditionally been an important source of employment for women.

Imports accounted for 87.7 percent of the total volume, while exports made up only 12.3 percent. The negative balance of $799.3 million highlights the country's high dependence on imports in the technical and industrial sectors.
