The court's decision on the preventive measure for Kudret Tajchabarov was made in the Pervomaisky district of Bishkek, where he was placed in a detention center until the end of December, according to information from the press service.
Kudret Tajchabarov, who represents the interests of entrepreneurs in Bishkek, submitted an application to the Central Election Commission (CEC) expressing his intention to participate in the elections for district No. 19. However, at the meeting on November 6, his candidacy was rejected due to suspicions regarding his connections with organized crime.
Recently, a photograph of Tajchabarov with the criminal authority Kamchy Kolbaev (Kamchybek Asanbek), who died as a result of a special services operation in 2023, appeared on social media. Tajchabarov confirmed at the CEC meeting that it was him in the photo, which was taken in 2021, explaining that he had approached Kolbaev for assistance regarding issues related to the Bishkek free economic zone, which was necessary for supporting business.
Soon after this, he was arrested by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), suspected of connections with organized crime.
Kudret Tajchabarov, a journalist who has held several positions, including director of the Bishkek free economic zone and head of the Tourism Development Fund, has recently been actively criticizing the actions of the authorities on social media.
