During the briefing, Tynchtyk Shainazarov, the head of the Central Election Commission, refuted rumors circulating on social media about possible malfunctions of the voting equipment at some polling stations. He noted that a malfunction implies a complete shutdown of the system, which is not happening at the moment.

According to him, all polling stations are functioning without any problems.

Shainazarov added that this is the first experience of using this system, and currently, there are no analogs of such technology in other countries. "Errors related to the human factor may occur during the process, but they are promptly addressed. At all polling stations, both within the country and abroad, backup devices are provided, including automatic reading machines, identification devices with printers, smart batteries, modems, and more," he emphasized.

Additionally, he noted that there may be situations where voters mishandle the ballots, for example, folding them incorrectly or dropping them into the electronic ballot box from the wrong side, which may complicate the system's ability to read the information.
