A member of the Central Election Commission, Uzarbek Zhilkybaev, warned in an interview on Birinchi Radio about possible legal consequences for candidates if they use funds not channeled through the election fund during the campaign.
He noted that all financial operations related to candidates must strictly comply with the declared amount of the election fund.
“If a candidate declared a fund of 1 million soms and has already spent that amount, but additionally used even 5 thousand soms outside the fund, this could lead to a change in their status and even the cancellation of their registration,” he added.
Zhilkybaev also emphasized that there is a strict prohibition on independently producing campaign materials without proper financial accounting.
