More than 530 thousand dollars received by 4 organizations in Kyrgyzstan for the development of nurseries

The signing ceremony was led by Zhanibek Kerimaliev, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry. The rector of KNAU, Rysbek Nurgaziev, also attended the event, highlighting the importance of his institution's participation in the implementation of environmental programs.

The competitive selection was conducted by an independent commission, which included representatives from government structures, associations, and civil society organizations. The final decision was approved by the project donor — the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). As part of the initiative, a specialized project company will also be engaged to develop the design and estimate documentation for the nurseries.

The updated nurseries are planned to be launched by the end of 2026, and according to estimates, they will be able to produce up to 2 million seedlings annually, including nut-bearing, fruit-berry, and ornamental plants. The products will be supplied to forestry enterprises, farms, and other interested parties, significantly contributing to greening, forest restoration, and sustainable development in rural regions of Kyrgyzstan.

The "ADAPT" project is being implemented with the support of IFAD and aims to strengthen the resilience of pasture ecosystems, enhance food security, and develop a green economy in the country.
