The meeting, led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev, took place at the instruction of President Sadyr Japarov.
Representatives from various government agencies, as well as the management and employees of the factory, participated in the discussion. The main topics included the current state of the enterprise, production volumes, wage levels, social issues, and measures to preserve the factory. Employees expressed their concerns about the reduction in production volumes, delays in payments, and the threat of job losses.
The Cabinet of Ministers has already developed a draft order for the payment of wage arrears to the factory employees for the last three months. Work is also underway to attract new investors.
During the full resumption of operations, the factory employees are planned to be sent on unpaid leave. Those who choose to resign voluntarily will be provided with compensation in accordance with the labor legislation of Kyrgyzstan.
According to Torobaev, a special working group will be created to restore the factory's operations, which will explore opportunities for production diversification and the introduction of new directions. He also added that the wage arrears will be fully paid off by the end of January 2026.
Additionally, the Accounts Chamber will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the financial, economic, and managerial activities of the factory to improve management.
It is also noted that the production of incandescent lamps will be discontinued, as this product is no longer in demand in the international market. Currently, the factory produces several types of glass containers, such as bottles and jars, as well as LED lamps.
The Mailuu-Suu Lamp Factory is located in the city of Mailuu-Suu, in the Jalal-Abad region. It was built and began operations in 1964. Since then, its organizational and legal form has changed several times—from a state enterprise to a joint-stock company and a limited liability company.
