A field meeting was held in the Jalal-Abad region dedicated to the state of the Open Joint Stock Company "Mailuu-Suu Lamp Factory." The event was led by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry. This information was provided by the press service of the Government of Kyrgyzstan.
At the meeting, organized at the direction of President Sadyr Japarov, representatives of relevant government structures, as well as the management and employees of the factory, gathered.
The main focus of the meeting was on the current state of affairs at the factory, production issues, employee wages, social aspects, and plans for the preservation of the enterprise. Employees expressed their concerns regarding the reduction in production volumes, delays in payments, and the threat of layoffs.
In response to these concerns, it was reported that the government is preparing an order to settle wage arrears for the past three months. Negotiations are also underway with potential investors.
Factory employees will be temporarily sent on unpaid leave until operations are fully restored. Those who choose to resign voluntarily will be provided with compensation in accordance with the labor legislation of Kyrgyzstan.
Bakyt Torobaev announced the creation of a special working group to analyze and develop new production directions with the aim of resuming the factory's activities. He also emphasized that all wage debts will be fully settled by the end of January 2026.
In addition, the Accounts Chamber will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the financial and managerial activities of the factory to improve the management system.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet noted that the production of incandescent lamps, which was previously manufactured by the factory, will be discontinued as this product is no longer in demand in the market.
Currently, the factory produces various types of glass containers.
It is worth noting that the Mailuu-Suu Lamp Factory was founded in 1964 in the city of Mailuu-Suu, Jalal-Abad region. Throughout its history, the enterprise has changed its organizational and legal form, including the status of a state enterprise, joint-stock company, and limited liability company.
