In their statement, they emphasize that the plant is one of the oldest in the mining and metallurgy sector of the country and has significantly contributed to the economy of Kyrgyzstan for 89 years by producing goods that are in demand in the international market.
After the Kazakh investor ceased operations, the enterprise was declared bankrupt, which caused serious problems: there were debts in wages and pension payments, as well as work stoppages and deterioration of infrastructure.
Employees noted that in November 2020, Sherali Osmanov was appointed as the special administrator. Under his leadership, the bankruptcy process was shifted from liquidation to restructuring, which allowed for a partial resumption of production and the beginning of debt repayment for wages and pension payments, as well as the preservation of the plant's main assets.
The appeal highlights that during the bankruptcy process, previously alienated property was returned, including the administration building and the management park. Employees assert that the plant is fully prepared to resume operations and is capable of handling production tasks.
The team expressed concern about the possible dismissal of Sherali Osmanov at the final stage of the enterprise's recovery, fearing that this could threaten the successes achieved.
The authors of the appeal urge to retain the current special administrator until all processes are fully completed and declare their readiness to continue working with full dedication to ensure the stable operation of the plant.
