During a morning raid on January 27, the mayor, along with heads of relevant services, inspected a four-story building located on Tileke Baatyr Street. The owner of this property is Alimzhan Baigazakov, who previously held the position of deputy mayor and currently works as an auditor at the Accounts Chamber.
The building was erected on the territory of the old bus station and within the water protection zone of the river. Despite multiple warnings about the need for demolition, the owners did not comply with the authorities' requirements.
In response to this situation, the mayor of Osh ordered the demolition not only of this building but also of nearby facilities, including bus station No. 1, which is currently not being used for its intended purpose.
Earlier, at the mayor's directive, the "Kristall" hotel building, located in close proximity to the building in question, was demolished.
According to information provided by Turmush, the demolition work of the "Kristall" hotel was nearly 90% complete by December 15, 2025. The main part of the building has already been destroyed, and the cleanup of the area from construction debris is currently ongoing.
At this time, the walls, roof, and internal structures of the hotel have been almost completely dismantled, and heavy machinery is engaged in removing construction waste.
- For reference, the demolition of the "Kristall" hotel began in October when it was determined that the building was located within the 50-meter protection zone of the river. Despite previously issued warnings, the owners continued to operate the building.
- At one of the sessions of the city council, Mayor Jenishbek Toktorbaev also confirmed that the hotel would be demolished.
According to current legislation, the water protection zone of rivers can vary from 6 to 50 meters depending on the type of water body. For example, for rivers such as Moyun, Zhany-Aryk, and Joo-Bas, this zone is 6 meters, while for the Ak-Buura River, it is 50 meters. The water protection strip of the Uvam canal is set at 30 meters on both sides.
