The Mayor of Bishkek visited water supply facilities and schools in the capital

The Mayor of the capital Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, accompanied by his deputies, conducted an inspection of several facilities related to the city's water supply and educational institutions.

The first stop on the agenda was the water intake "Orto-Alysh," where work is currently underway to clean the replenishment lakes. So far, 4 out of 11 lakes have been cleaned, with 5 dump trucks and 8 excavators involved. This facility is responsible for supplying 8,600 cubic meters of water, which meets the needs of about 40% of the city's residents.

During the inspection, the mayor instructed to coordinate actions with the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek Heat and Power Plant" to start repair work earlier than planned and ensure reliable water supply for citizens during the summer.

The Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal" was also instructed to notify agricultural enterprises about the need to switch to drip irrigation, with a warning about the measures to be taken in case of non-compliance with these recommendations.

The next stop was Children's Art School No. 4, where plans were discussed for the construction of an additional floor or a new building next to the existing one. Aibek Junushaliev urged to contact the Institute of Seismology to assess the seismic resistance of the building and emphasized the importance of creating an accessible environment for people with disabilities. It is important that the school will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026, and all work must be completed by that date.

School No. 37 was also on the agenda, where the mayor ordered to immediately begin major repairs on the adjacent building and explore the possibility of merging the two buildings on the school grounds, which would increase its capacity. Additionally, it was proposed to dismantle the nearby garages and consider constructing a multi-level parking lot.

Next, the delegation inspected the water intake facility "HBO," where, after reconstruction, 5 wells are now functioning: 3 of them were restored, and 2 new ones were drilled, each with a capacity of 160 cubic meters per hour. Four second-lift pumping units have been installed. This facility provides drinking water to the residents of the Kok-Zhar microdistrict, as well as to the neighborhoods bounded by the streets Ankara, Dostoevsky, L. Tolstoy, and April 7. The completion of the work was planned for February 2026, but it was completed ahead of schedule—in December 2025.

In conclusion, the mayor visited School No. 56, where, after his repeated visits, criticism, and management decisions, including the dismissal of the deputy akim of the October district, work at the site was intensified.

As a result, the major renovation of the gym was completed in just two months.

At the final stage, the mayor instructed to increase the greening of the school grounds and develop a project for its improvement. According to the director, after the renovation was completed, the number of students at the institution has increased.
