The Foreign Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Germany discussed projects in hydropower, logistics, and tourism

On February 11, 2026, a meeting took place in Berlin between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, and Dr. Johann Wadephul, the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, the heads of the foreign policy agencies emphasized their intention to deepen cooperation between the two countries based on the principles of mutual respect and equality. The discussion covered a wide range of issues, including political relations, trade, investment, and cultural cooperation.

The parties agreed on the importance of continuing political dialogue and organizing visits at various levels. Kulubaev also spoke about the recent elections to the Jogorku Kenesh, which were held in accordance with national laws and international standards, ensuring transparency and trust in the process.

Speaking about the socio-economic progress of Kyrgyzstan, the Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic called for joint actions to expand cooperation with German companies, particularly in key sectors such as hydropower, agriculture, transport, and tourism. Additionally, both sides expressed a desire to enhance cooperation in areas of "green" economy, e-commerce, new technologies, and education.

The ministers exchanged views on international and regional agendas, discussing cooperation within various international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, and EU.

In the context of the European Union's sanctions policy, Kulubaev called for a more constructive and balanced approach from European countries, noting the lack of clear grounds for imposing restrictions and their potentially negative consequences for sustainable development in Central Asia. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan adheres to its international commitments and is ready for open dialogue on an equal basis with European institutions.
