On February 13, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, met with the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, during his working visit. The meeting discussed key aspects of developing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Sadyr Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to expanding cooperation with Tajikistan, based on mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests.
“The President of Tajikistan and I have reached an agreement on the main areas of our interaction and outlined future cooperation guidelines,” he noted.

Japarov also highlighted the need for joint efforts to counter transnational threats, including terrorism, religious extremism, and organized crime.
In this context, he spoke about the importance of mutual support within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), concerning the establishment of an Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe and a Center for Combating International Organized Crime in Bishkek.

Kohir Rasulzoda, for his part, thanked for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality extended to the Tajik delegation.
He conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
The Prime Minister noted that strengthening good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan is a priority for Tajikistan's foreign policy.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan's economic indicators are among the best in the region.
“Thanks to your constructive dialogue with the President of Tajikistan and political will, our relations have reached a new level of interaction. The signing of the State Border Agreement was a historic achievement and laid a solid foundation for friendship, mutual respect, and trust,” emphasized the Prime Minister.

He expressed hope that the results of the Prime Minister's visit and the joint work of the governments will contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both states and their peoples.
