During the working visit of the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with him.
According to the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan, the meeting addressed issues related to the expansion of bilateral relations.
Sadyr Japarov, welcoming Kohir Rasulzoda, emphasized the importance of deepening Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation based on mutual respect and consideration of the interests of both sides.
“We have reached an agreement on key areas of our interaction due to our similar views, which allows us to outline promising guidelines,” the president noted.
He also reported on the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which will serve as an important tool for the prompt implementation of the tasks set.
In addition, the president highlighted the need for joint efforts in combating transnational threats such as terrorism, religious extremism, drug trafficking, and organized crime.
In this context, Sadyr Japarov noted the importance of joint work within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to establish an Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe and a Center for Combating International Organized Crime in Bishkek.
The president expressed hope that the Prime Minister of Tajikistan discussed all areas of cooperation in detail with his Kyrgyz counterpart and that the positive results achieved will contribute to the qualitative development of bilateral relations.
Kohir Rasulzoda, for his part, thanked for the warm welcome and expressed appreciation for the traditional hospitality extended to the delegation.
He conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Sadyr Japarov.
The Prime Minister noted that strengthening good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan is one of the priorities of Tajikistan's foreign policy.
“We are closely following the positive transformations in your country. These achievements command respect and testify to the creative energy of the Kyrgyz people under your leadership,” he added.
Kohir Rasulzoda also noted Kyrgyzstan's high economic indicators in the region.
“Thanks to your open dialogue with the President of Tajikistan and the political will demonstrated, our relations have reached a new level. The signing of the State Border Agreement has become an important step towards eternal friendship and mutual respect,” he emphasized.
Sadyr Japarov agreed with the expressed assessments and confirmed the course towards further strengthening relations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
In conclusion, the president expressed confidence that the results of the Prime Minister's visit and the joint work of the governments will contribute to the fruitful development of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both peoples and states.
