The Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Discussed Current Issues of Bilateral Cooperation

Important aspects of bilateral interaction were thoroughly discussed at the meeting of the ministers, who reviewed the current state of cooperation in political, economic, water-energy, and cultural spheres. Special attention was given to the implementation of agreements reached during the 7th meeting of the Supreme Intergovernmental Council and the 13th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council. A schedule for mutual high-level visits for the current year was also agreed upon.

The ministers discussed practical steps for the implementation of major projects, including the establishment of an industrial trade-logistics complex at the border, a wholesale distribution center in the Almaty region for the storage of agricultural products, an alternative route from Issyk-Kul to Almaty, as well as the modernization of border checkpoints and bridges on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties also noted that there is significant untapped potential for interregional cooperation in the agricultural sector and industrial cooperation. In this regard, a decision was made to consider possible prospects for further interaction.

The discussion also touched upon strengthening cooperation in multilateral forums. The ministers confirmed their similar views on current issues of regional policy and expressed their readiness for mutual support within international organizations.

In addition, the parties expressed their intention to develop cultural and humanitarian ties, including through initiatives in education, healthcare, and youth policy.

In conclusion of the meeting, Zheenbek Kulubaev invited the Kazakh side to actively participate in the upcoming VI World Nomad Games.
