President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov congratulated the women of the country on March 8, marking International Women's Day.
The text of the president's address:
“Dear mothers and sisters! Esteemed women of Kyrgyzstan!
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on March 8 – International Women’s Day!
In the history of our people, rooted in the depths of centuries, the values that shape relationships between men and women, as well as between the older and younger generations, parents and children, have developed based on traditions and customs, becoming an unbreakable law. Notable proverbs passed down from generation to generation emphasize the high status of women: “A man is the support of the home and the shield of the people, while a woman is the grace of the home and the foundation of family well-being,” “With a good wife, a husband is good,” “A mother’s milk is sacred.” These wise sayings confirm that women have always held an important and honorable place in society. Their kindness, wisdom, and care serve as the foundation for a strong family structure and societal stability.
Our people have always treated women with deep respect. Significant roles in the fate of the nation were played by outstanding mothers such as Chiyrdy, Kanykey, and Aichurok. It is no surprise that the expression “Mother is sacred, daughter is dear” has taken root in Kyrgyz culture. The welcoming of a daughter as a guest and seating her in a place of honor is a vivid example of our national values.
In the era of globalization, it is especially important to preserve national traditions. Despite changes in the world, the moral foundations left to us by our ancestors, including respect for women, must remain in our memory. After all, a bright future begins with the upbringing provided by our mothers. A people that honors its mother and respects its father will always be worthy of respect.
Our state also recognizes women as the guardians of the family hearth and an important force contributing to the progress of society, providing them with comprehensive support. We take pride in Kyrgyz women who make significant contributions to education, science, culture, medicine, entrepreneurship, and public administration. The names of such outstanding women as Kakish Ryskulova, Batys Salieva, Toktogon Altybasarova, Zuurakan Kainazarova, Telegey Sagymbaeva, and Tenti Adysheva highlight the achievements of Kyrgyz women and underscore their rightful place in society. These individuals continue the traditions of their ancestors and demonstrate the strength and potential of Kyrgyz women.
Today, there are also many women who, following the example of their predecessors, have achieved significant success and contribute to the development of the country.
Our duty is to continue to uphold respect and adhere to the values we have inherited from our ancestors, which have led to the emergence of revered women. We recognize that returning to our roots and traditions contributes to elevating the status of women and respecting mothers and daughters.
Dear women of Kyrgyzstan!
I wish you happiness and prosperity. May peace and abundance reign in your homes, and may your faces always shine with smiles. May your children be happy, and may your lineage continue. Uphold our moral values and remain the support and adornment of society!
