In his speech, he criticized the actions of employees responsible for road safety, who sometimes come to hospitals asking not to document accidents. “It is necessary for the real picture of the road situation to be visible. Inspectors should stop these practices,” he noted.
Zamirbek also provided data on traffic accidents in the region for the past year: 742 accidents were recorded, resulting in the deaths of 177 people, while more than 1,000 sustained various injuries. He pointed out instances where crimes and reports were not properly documented and cited an incident that occurred on January 2, 2026, in the village of Toluk in the Toktogul district. There, a local resident hit a 7th grader who was sledding. The police officer refused to register the incident until the child was admitted to intensive care.
The presidential representative in the Jalal-Abad region, Tilek Tekebaev, also expressed the need to address the situation. “The death of 177 people in traffic accidents is a serious indicator. Why are employees trying to convince doctors not to document incidents? We are waiting for an answer,” he said.
The head of the road safety department of the Jalal-Abad regional police, Manas Sydygaliev, confirmed that the stated facts are indeed present. “With the increase in the number of traffic accidents, measures against inspectors are being intensified. This may be one of the reasons for the situation; we will work on this,” he responded.
The deputy prosecutor also mentioned the concealment of crimes, referring to cases where residents of the village of Taran-Bazar in the Suzak district complained about the loss of livestock, but these facts were not registered.
At the meeting, it became known that in 2023, law enforcement agencies registered 25,677 statements and reports of crimes. Criminal cases were initiated for 3,229 of them, while more than 18,000 cases were denied initiation. This is 2,725 more cases than in 2024, indicating a rise in the crime rate.
