At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Agrarian Policy and Ecology, held on February 2, measures to combat smog were discussed.

Deputy Alisher Kozyuev addressed representatives of the Ministry of Health with a question about whether there is currently a virus, or if the deterioration of citizens' health is a result of smog exposure.

Jarkynbek Kasymbekov, the director of the National Institute of Public Health, noted that a special study in this area has not been conducted, as it is quite difficult to determine.

He explained: "Morbidity and mortality are caused by multiple factors. The global trend shows that air pollution has a direct impact on health. Although statistics indicate a decrease in the overall mortality and morbidity rates, there is an increase in lung and respiratory diseases, particularly allergic rhinitis. This type of disease has increased by 2.5 times, especially among children," he added.
