Cardiac surgeon explained which symptoms require urgent medical attention
As the doctor noted, symptoms can manifest in various forms: this may include tightness or pain in the chest area, tingling, as well as radiating pain in the arm, jaw, or between the shoulder blades. Despite the fact that these symptoms may be short-lived, their appearance is a reason to consult a doctor.
Another alarming signal is shortness of breath, especially during physical activity. "In such situations, it is extremely important not to delay a visit to a medical specialist," emphasized the cardiothoracic surgeon.
Nurlan Koshoybek uulu added that before the arrival of an ambulance, it is necessary to stop any physical activity and try to remain calm. If there is aspirin in the home medicine cabinet, it can be taken according to previously established recommendations, but the use of other medications without a doctor's instructions is not recommended. Additionally, it is important to ensure access to oxygen and wait for the medical personnel to arrive.
Regarding diagnostics, the specialist explained that symptoms are first recorded, followed by laboratory tests, an electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and other necessary procedures. In the case of a heart attack or issues with coronary vessels, the "golden hour" is critically important — the first 2 hours during which medical intervention can save a life and improve the patient's quality of life.
