According to the doctor, many parents seek help when the disease has already affected the liver and lungs, sometimes leading to the rupture of an echinococcal cyst. This problem has particularly impacted Bishkek and the Chui region.
Anakeeva discussed important aspects that parents should pay attention to regarding their child's health. In particular, during infancy, it is essential to focus on proper feeding—breast milk should remain the primary source of nutrition in the first year of life, as artificial formulas cannot replace it.
The doctor also emphasized the importance of timely vaccinations. Last year, there was an increase in measles cases, which was caused by many parents refusing vaccinations.
Furthermore, Anakeeva noted that parents sometimes attempt to treat their children on their own, which can lead to tragic consequences.
"Last year, one child died from poisoning by antipyretic medications. The mother administered the antipyretic uncontrollably for two days without following the dosage. These medications are not as safe as they seem; they should only be taken as prescribed by a doctor," she urged parents to consult a family doctor when their child is ill.
The doctor also reported an increase in cases of children being poisoned by medications. Sometimes this occurs due to improper storage of drugs, and in some cases, children intentionally take medications in a suicide attempt.
According to her, another serious threat to young children is the ingestion of foreign objects. This can happen if a child swallows a battery or a toy part. In such situations, surgical intervention may sometimes be required to remove part of an organ along with the foreign body.
During epidemics, Anakeeva recommended that parents contact Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Centers rather than hospitals to avoid contracting other diseases from other patients. In case of an emergency at night, they should go to a hospital.
The doctor listed mandatory checks and preventive measures for children:
- Until the age of one, it is recommended to check the child monthly with a specialist—conducting weight assessments and evaluating psychomotor development.
- Timely tests and medical examinations should be conducted.
- Before starting school and during the educational process, regular check-ups with doctors are necessary.
According to the state guarantee program, some children are entitled to free medical care:
- orphaned children
- children with disabilities
- children under state care.
For other children, co-payment is provided.
