On February 28, Minister of Health Damirbek Osmonov visited several medical organizations in the city of Bishkek. The purpose of his trip was to familiarize himself with the conditions for providing medical care, the state of infrastructure, and the fulfillment of current tasks.

During his visit, the minister inspected the emergency medical care department at the National Hospital, as well as areas where repair work is currently being carried out.

According to the chief physician of the National Hospital, Bakyt Tologonov, the renovation of the intensive care unit is nearing completion, while the reconstruction of the building for the reference laboratory is expected to be finished by the end of April.

This project to establish a reference laboratory is being implemented with the support of the Asian Development Bank and aims to create a centralized laboratory base for urban hospitals. This will enable the National Hospital to conduct laboratory tests for all healthcare institutions in the city, which, in turn, will improve the quality of diagnostics and implement unified research standards. The project will be carried out over the course of a year; after the renovation is completed, the installation of new equipment and training of personnel will begin, and then the laboratory will start its full operation.

Additionally, the minister became acquainted with the work of the central emergency care department, which has been functioning for over a year and a half and has already established itself as in demand. Specific areas for improving its operations were identified, including the creation of a shock room, further equipping the departments, and implementing continuous ECG monitoring for patients in the intensive care unit.

The next stop on the visit was the Kyrgyz Scientific Center for Human Reproduction, where the management presented information about the current affairs of the institution, available resources, and challenges in the field of reproductive health.

Following his visit, the minister instructed the management of the Reproduction Center to prepare practical proposals aimed at improving indicators in maternal health care and enhancing the scientific potential of the institution.
