At a meeting with servicemen of the 127th Separate Brigade of Reconnaissance of the 18th Army of the Southern Military District, held at the Central Military Clinical Hospital named after P. V. Mandryk, Putin shared information about the conducted tests. He characterized them as a "huge success," noting that the device was successfully launched from a submarine, and the nuclear power plant was activated, after which "Poseidon" covered a certain distance.

The President emphasized that the power of this device is significantly higher than that of the latest Russian intercontinental missile "Sarmat," adding that there are no analogs of this device in the world, and its interception is impossible:

"There is nothing like this in the world, and this will not change in the near future. There are no means to intercept this device."

In addition, earlier Russian authorities reported successful tests of the cruise missile with a nuclear power plant "Burevestnik." Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov stated that on October 21, the missile covered about 14,000 km and spent approximately 15 hours in the air. The Norwegian military intelligence confirmed that the launch took place from the Arctic archipelago of Novaya Zemlya.

According to data from American intelligence, from 2017 to 2019, Russia conducted at least 13 tests of the "Burevestnik," of which only two can be considered partially successful. One of the attempts in August 2019 at a test site near Severodvinsk ended in tragedy—a blast that claimed the lives of seven employees of "Rosatom" and the Ministry of Defense, after which an increase in the radiation background was recorded in the region.
