The museum's collection includes about 700 exhibits, among which one can find archaeological finds, traditional household items, as well as works by local artists, including the famous people's artist Odon Geleg, painter Mels Purev, and photographer Batzeren Bazarzada.
Particular attention is drawn to the appearance of the museum building, which features a unique architectural element symbolizing the flags and emblems of 11 Buryat clans. This project was carried out by the honored builder of Mongolia, Choybalsan Namdag, and implemented by the company "Elturud" with the support of the local development fund of the sum.
The museum has a three-story structure with a basement, with a total area of approximately 1300 square meters. The library is located on the first floor, while the main exhibitions are housed on the second.
This institution is unique in that it is the first museum dedicated to Buryat-Mongolian heritage and culture, aimed at creating a major center that will support and develop the cultural heritage of the Buryat people in Mongolia, China, Russia, and other countries.
