The WDSF World Championship took place on December 6, 2025, in Braunschweig, Germany. Currently, WDSF includes 99 participating countries, among which are 13 from America, 49 from Europe, 2 from Oceania, 13 from Africa, and 21 from Asia, with 78 of them recognized by National Olympic Committees.
The first WDSF World Championship was organized in 1935 by the International Dance Federation for Amateurs (FIDA), founded in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Mongolian team took third place in the standard dance category at the WDSF World Championship, becoming the only representative from Asia in the competition.
As a result, the first place was won by dancers from the German team Braunschweiger TSC, second place went to the team 1 TC Ludwigsburg, third place was taken by Mongolia, and fourth place was secured by dancers from the Czech team Starlet Brno. The fifth and sixth places were taken by the Austrian teams TSC Schwarz Gold A-Team Standard and TSK Juventus Wien A-Team, respectively.
The Mongolian dance group "Moon Dance" won the bronze medal at the World Championship, making them the first team from Mongolia to receive medals at this competition for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025). They secured third place, surpassing competitors from other countries and confirming their successes achieved in previous years.
Standard dances include five main styles: waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, slow foxtrot, and quickstep. These dances are characterized by their formality compared to Latin American dances and require close interaction between partners, which implies maintaining the initial position throughout the performance.
