According to information provided by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sanctions target 10 U.S. citizens and 20 defense companies involved in arms supplies to Taiwan, reports DW.

In the Chinese foreign ministry, it was emphasized that such supplies "undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity" of the country, which is why the measures were initiated without delay.

The sanctions list includes, in particular, companies such as Northrop Grumman and Boeing's St. Louis branch. As clarified by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the individuals targeted by the sanctions hold high positions in these organizations.

According to the ministry, all assets of the mentioned companies and individuals located in China will be frozen. Additionally, Chinese organizations and individuals are prohibited from establishing business relations with them, and entry into the country is closed for the individuals on the list.

Earlier in December of this year, the U.S. administration approved the largest arms sale to Taiwan amounting to $11.1 billion, which included HIMARS rocket systems, Javelin anti-tank missiles, Altius drones, howitzers, and components for other military equipment.

China considers Taiwan an inseparable part of its territory and rejects any official interactions of the island with other countries, viewing such actions as a threat to its sovereignty.
