Gladkov added that the strike was aimed at engineering facilities. According to the Telegram channel "Ashes," the "Storozheva" substation and the "Luch" CHPP were attacked.
By the morning of the next day, 556,000 citizens in six municipalities of the region were left without electricity and heating. The governor noted that 1,920 apartment buildings were without heating, and nearly 200,000 people lost access to water and sewage systems.
Gladkov reported on the work of emergency crews that are already on-site. "The connection of backup power sources installed in recent months is underway. Restoration work is continuing where possible. At dawn, we will be able to assess the damage and recovery timelines more fully. The situation is extremely difficult, but I hope we will manage," he added.
