UN Secretary-General: The Middle Corridor has become a strategically important East-West route

Omuraliyev emphasized that the Middle Corridor has become a key artery for connecting the East and the West, significantly improving the resilience and diversity of global supply chains, drawing on the traditions of the Silk Road.

High-profile representatives from international organizations, transport ministries of the member countries of the OTS, as well as representatives from financial institutions and businesses attended the event. During the discussions, ways to address existing problems, enhance the efficiency of border procedures, digitize transport processes, and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors were considered.

The Secretary General expressed gratitude to the OSCE, the speakers, and all participants for their active discussion of the issues, noting that the OTS will continue to work on improving connectivity and simplifying trade procedures as key areas of regional cooperation and sustainable development.
