The Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that ensuring citizens' access to quality medicines is a key priority of state policy, which is directly linked to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the area of "Good Health and Well-Being." During the conversation, particular attention was paid to issues of preventing corruption and ensuring transparency in the procurement process.
The Minister emphasized that the state allocates significant funds annually for the purchase of medical products, and the main task is their rational and transparent use. He also noted that systemic changes are needed to eliminate unscrupulous practices and create a fair and sustainable procurement system.
Representatives of partner organizations confirmed their readiness to deepen cooperation, including the implementation of international standards in procurement, supply chain management, the application of digital solutions, pharmacovigilance, and strengthening the institutional capacity of the healthcare system. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work on the implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding, focusing on specific and measurable outcomes aimed at improving pharmaceutical safety and protecting patient interests.
