- On December 23, Acting Minister of Health Kanbek Dosmambetov met with representatives of the pharmaceutical industry to discuss ensuring medical institutions have the necessary medications.
The goal of implementing this system is to strengthen control and prevent unscrupulous practices in the field of drug circulation. It will provide transparency in tracking medications from the moment of purchase to their receipt by patients, allowing for the anticipation of needs, advance planning of purchases, and rapid response to potential shortages, eliminating opaque schemes, as stated in the agency's press release.
Preparatory work for the implementation of the system began in 2018, and in March 2023, the first phase was successfully launched. Currently, 1,955 pharmacies and 227 medical institutions are participating in the traceability system, according to the latest data.
