The Acting Minister of Health, Kanbek Dosmambetov, held a meeting with a working group dedicated to ensuring the population has access to quality and necessary medications.
During the meeting, measures were discussed to ensure a stable supply of vital medications to the country. Participants noted the importance of eliminating bureaucratic obstacles, as well as reducing the timeframes and queues for the registration of drugs included in the list of essential medicines.
Dosmambetov instructed to create a unified electronic database of medications within two months, which will contain up-to-date information on the availability of drugs and the healthcare needs of the republic.
To prevent a shortage of medications at the beginning of 2026, and considering the existing limitations of the state enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacy" in supplying medicines, it was proposed to grant medical organizations the right to independently conduct tenders and purchase necessary medications.
A decision was also made to hold working meetings with representatives of the private pharmaceutical sector to develop comprehensive and sustainable solutions in the field of drug supply.
