As part of the "Solovyov Live" program, aired on January 10, Solovyov characterized Central Asia as "ours" and suggested the possibility of conducting a special military operation in Russia's spheres of influence. He also mentioned that the loss of Armenia is a "gigantic problem" for the country. Zakharova described Solovyov's words as a personal opinion expressed in the context of a private discussion and noted that they were presented in the form of a question rather than as an official statement. "These words were undoubtedly delivered in a provocative style and interpreted as if they were Russia's official position. Such manipulations are unacceptable," stated the Russian Foreign Ministry representative. She also added that official positions are formulated by authorized persons, and that the country's leadership has repeatedly stated its policy regarding the post-Soviet space and sovereign states, taking into account the shared Soviet past. Zakharova emphasized that historically, Russia maintains good-neighborly relations with the peoples of the South Caucasus and Central Asia, based on strategic partnership, friendship, and cooperation. She noted the importance of personal contacts between the leaders of friendly countries, which contribute to the development of these ties based on mutual respect and trust. "It is important to evaluate actions, not words. How many times have we extended a helping hand, sincerely empathized, and shared joys and victories with our partners? We have repeatedly overcome difficulties and responded to provocations. This is what should be focused on, rather than succumbing to provocations, which, unfortunately, will be many. Let us concentrate on reality, not on fakes," concluded Maria Zakharova.
