An electronic 'single window' system for export has been launched in Mongolia

Since 2022, the Plant Protection Organization in Mongolia has begun the process of digitizing its services related to certification and notification for both plants and plant raw materials and products. Additionally, an electronic 'single window' system has been implemented to simplify export processes. This information was published on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, reporting on achievements in this area.

As part of expanding international cooperation, Mongolia has signed several agreements, including a trilateral one with China and Russia, and has reached an agreement with Uzbekistan. Efforts are also ongoing to conclude three quarantine protocols with China.

During a recent visit by Deputy Minister Nyamzhav Baasansuren to the Organization, the need for support in implementing the electronic certification system ePhyto was expressed. This includes the issuance of re-export certificates and the development of five regulatory acts to govern the application of phytosanitary control and plant protection legislation.

Established last year, the Plant Protection Organization of Mongolia includes three divisions and 19 employees. It monitors the spread of pests and the damage caused to agriculture in the central region, as well as controlling preventive measures and combating diseases and pests of fruit and berry crops. To date, 5,468 quarantine certificates and notifications for plants have been issued, and 20 international standards have been adapted for national use.
