Explosions Occurred in Several Cities in Iran: There Are Dead and Injured
The Iranian agency Tasnim reports that one person was killed and 14 were injured as a result of the explosion.
Additionally, an explosion was also recorded in a residential complex in the city of Ahvaz in the southwest of the country. Preliminary reports indicate that four people died there, and according to the head of the local fire and rescue service, the cause of the incident was a gas leak.
Reports of explosions have also come from the cities of Parandeh and Tabriz, but this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
Rumors about an unsuccessful assassination attempt on the commander of the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Alireza Tangsiri, in Bandar Abbas have appeared on social media. However, Iranian media have denied these rumors. The Mehr agency cites an informed source who stated that the information about the assassination attempt is not true, which is also confirmed by Tasnim.
Israeli representatives, for their part, stated that their country is not involved in the explosions, as reported by Channel 12 of Israeli television.
Earlier, in connection with the deterioration of relations with the United States, the Iranian armed forces were put on full combat readiness. The commander of the ground forces, Amir Hatami, noted that any mistake on the part of the enemy could jeopardize the security of both the enemy itself and the region as a whole, including the so-called Zionist regime.
Tensions between Washington and Tehran have increased following statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who threatened new military actions on January 30 if Iran refused to negotiate over its nuclear program.
