Recent restoration work in the chapel of the Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lucina, founded in the 4th century and rebuilt in the 17th, has led to an interesting discovery. An angel was spotted in a fresco that strikingly resembles Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as reported by DW.

During the restoration, which was carried out under the guidance of Bruno Valentinetti, renowned masters such as Bernini, Rinaldi, Bompiani, and Reni worked in the temple.

Italian media point out that the restorer has connections to right-wing political circles, which has sparked rumors about a possible intention to create a resemblance between the angel and the leader of the far-right party "Brothers of Italy."

Giorgia Meloni herself was intrigued by this incident and shared a photo of the fresco on Instagram, expressing an ironic comment:

“No, I definitely don’t look like an angel,” adding a smiling emoji.

Italy's Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli has ordered an analysis of the fresco to determine the nature of the work done and to decide what steps should be taken next.
