According to information provided by the Emergency Situations Department of Dornod aimag, an incident occurred on February 24, 2026, at 14:00, resulting in the deaths of four people, while two were rescued after their car went under the ice of Lake Buyr.
Preliminary data indicates that there were six people in the car at the time of the incident. Rescue services continue their work at the scene; two passengers were successfully rescued and have been hospitalized. Unfortunately, the bodies of four other individuals were found without signs of life. The local emergency service is actively investigating the incident and coordinating search and rescue operations.
The Emergency Situations Department strongly urges citizens to avoid going onto the ice of the lake due to the danger.
