
The discussion on the issue of withdrawing from the CIS began in Moldova back in mid-January. Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi announced preparations for this process. On March 11, the government approved the denunciation of the agreement and protocols related to the CIS. Now the draft must go through two readings in parliament.
Since 2022, Moldova has not participated in CIS meetings. The country's president, Maia Sandu, noted that the republic aims to adapt its international legal framework to European standards.
