Trump threatened to cut NATO spending due to its stance on Iran

In his speech at the investment forum in Miami, organized by representatives of Saudi Arabia, Trump criticized NATO's decision not to support the U.S. actions against Iran.

“NATO made a serious mistake by refusing to send even a minimal amount of weapons and not recognizing our contribution to peace in countering the Iranian threat,” he noted.

According to the president, the U.S. constantly helps its allies, but in return does not receive similar support.

“Why should we continue to support them if they do not support us?” Trump questioned, adding that in the event of negative developments, allies could find themselves “not on our side.”

Nevertheless, he spoke positively about Saudi Arabia's role, emphasizing its significant contribution to countering Iran.

Trump also noted that Washington allocates hundreds of billions of dollars annually to support NATO and pointed out the possibility of significant savings by cutting these expenses.
