The actions of the Houthis may include direct military intervention if other nations join the US and Israel, or if the Red Sea is used for military operations against Iran, as stated by the military representative of the group, Yahya Sari.
Sari emphasized that they are prepared for active measures in response to the formation of new alliances against Iran and its partners, as well as in the event of an escalation of the conflict, although he did not specify in what format they plan to intervene.
According to Reuters, such statements increase the likelihood of conflict expansion in the region, especially considering the Houthis' capabilities to carry out attacks over significant distances and their influence on the security of shipping in the Red Sea.
Houthi representatives also noted that they will not allow the waters of the Red Sea to be used for attacks against Iran or other Muslim states.
Earlier, Iranian officials spoke about the possibility of closing the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, in the event of further escalation of the conflict, including the possibility of a ground invasion. This strait is strategically important and part of Yemen's territorial waters.
As reported by Reuters, the Houthis have repeatedly stated their readiness to support Iran, but have not officially announced their participation in the war so far.
