
The agency emphasized that there is currently no threat to residents. "Work is ongoing around the clock, and all necessary measures are being taken to prevent flooding, as well as to ensure safe vehicular movement. The situation is under control," noted the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
About 5,000 bags and 50,000 tons of inert material have been collected, and approximately 800 meters of an earthen embankment have been built. Specialized equipment and personnel from both the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the akimat have been stationed at the site. The process is being monitored by the chairman of the committee for emergency situations and the leadership of the emergency department, who are coordinating the ongoing work.
Earlier, it was reported that the "Shoptykol" dam had breached, which occurred two kilometers north of the village of Sabyndy in the Korgalzhyn district of Akmolinsk region. The press service of the national company "KazAvtoZhol" clarified that water is spreading across the fields towards the settlement and crosses the republican highway Astana – Korgalzhyn at the 75th kilometer. However, there has been no overflow onto the roadway, and the road surface has not been damaged.
