As of April 6, 2,075 houses, 1,817 household plots, and 173 roads were underwater. A total of 4,165 people were evacuated from the flooded settlements, including 823 children. Currently, 731 people, including 241 children, are temporarily housed in emergency shelters.
The situation is particularly difficult in the Derbent district, where the dam of the Gedzhukh Reservoir broke on April 5.
On the road between Mamedkala and Gedzhukh, a strong current swept away several vehicles. As a result of this tragedy, a pregnant woman and a 12-year-old boy lost their lives, while seven people managed to escape, local authorities reported.
Additionally, due to the heavy rains, a bridge on the federal highway "Caucasus" collapsed.

Currently, the following activities are reported:
- Emergency services continue to work on eliminating the consequences of flooding and are surveying the flooded areas to assess risks.
- Road services are clearing roads of landslides and other debris.
- Energy workers are restoring electricity supply in the affected settlements and restoring mobile communication.
- Medical personnel and volunteers are working in the flooded areas, providing water and necessary assistance.
"The body of a 5-year-old girl was discovered near the village of Mamedkala... She was from the village of Velikent," the administration reported. "The child was swept away by the current after the water level rose on the section of the federal highway."
Thus, the total number of victims of the flooding has risen to four.
