The tragedy occurred in Turkey, where the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Ali-Ahmed al-Haddad, died as a result of a plane crash. The private jet he was on disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from Ankara.
According to information from the NTV channel, the Falcon aircraft went missing approximately 70 kilometers south of the capital, in the area of the town of Haymana. Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that contact with the plane was lost at nine o'clock in the evening local time, when al-Haddad and four other passengers were en route from Ankara to Tripoli.
The plane disappeared from radar 40 minutes after takeoff, at an altitude of 10 kilometers. It was later found two kilometers from the village of Kesikkavak. Experts are working at the crash site, trying to locate the black box and determine the causes of the crash.
Libyan representatives were in Turkey for negotiations with the country's military leadership. Libyan Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dbeibah expressed his condolences regarding the tragic incident.
Libyan authorities confirmed the death of Chief of the General Staff Mohammed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad, and his body was found at the crash site. It is known that there were four other people on board along with him.
