According to information provided by the press service of the Bishkek City Police Department, a suspect in fraudulent activities has been detained in the capital, as a result of which a local resident lost 6.5 million soms.
The victim turned out to be a citizen named L.I., who reported to the police that she received a call from unknown individuals claiming to be employees of banks and mobile companies, and deceitfully took a large sum of money from her.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational-search activities, the suspect, 34-year-old M.A., was identified and detained, and is currently in a temporary detention facility.
The criminals, posing as employees of financial and mobile companies, misled the victim by claiming that her funds were in danger and that it was necessary to take out loans to protect them.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing to clarify all the circumstances of the case and identify possible accomplices.
